hey i have a s13 silvia Q that i have bought a manual ca18DET conversion for im not exactly a wiring sorta personi am wondering if there is much of a differance if any between the DE and DET wiring looms ?

can i plug my non turbo loom into the det computer ? any help would be really appreciated cheers

I would think that you should just be fine to plug the DET ECU into the DE loom, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The safest thing to do would be to use a DET loom and ECU.

As long as you have the engine harness and computer it will plug into the body harness. The DE harness is a bit different than the DET due to the injector impedance. I ran a DE computer plugged into a DET harness so I could run the 370s on my Q but it fried something after a couple of months and started dumping fuel into the engine. I would strongly recommend you got DET wiring.

the set up that i have bought comes with engine loom ecu etc the plugs in the car loom side should be the same aye ? i guess ill find out in a week or so anyway cheers guys

if you didnt get correct wiring to begin with, then theres no better time to wire up a standalone.

Personally i go with megasquirt, but i am a huge nerd and like programming things and/or using a computer whenever possible

check out the stickies and a poll started by TheMadScientist for reviews of different standalones

PS, got busy last couple nights...... they beat the spread at least... too bad i didnt have any money on it. Didnt even open my new drill up yet, in the next day or so i should have the bracket finished up and mounted with pics of the process
