would a tire an inch taller fit on a non-lowered 94 Q? don't ask me why. i know speedo would read lower than actual and that it would accelerate a little slower by effectively making the rear end ratio a little lower. i've got 17x7.5 inch rims with +40mm offset. would taller tires clear the suspension and fenders with no rub? what about just the rear? i might just get 245/45s like freddy. width would probably be 255, but if i wanted truck tires i could put 275s on the back.

The total wheel diameter is what determines clearances.Mine is lowered and my 245/45-17's dont rub.Actually I think my total diameter now is ever so slightly less than before. Not enough to increase my speed reading noticably, or to aid accel noticably.

Fred...:)

We have a few customers with 235/60/16" roughly 1" taller.........255/45/17 is the EXACT diameter match for 215/65/15 or 235/60/15 or 255/50/16.225/60/15, 225/55/16, 245/50/16, 235/45/17 and 245/45/17 are smaller.

What ever tire you choose make sure it is at least a 95 [1521 pound] load rating .....higher [96,97,98,100, 101...etc] is better for safety and performance.

i was thinking 255/50 because of the rim width. tire rack lists rim width ranges for tires and i don't know if it is good to go out of the range. 255/50 would be 101 load rating and would probably look better when i put stock springs back on. the roads are too bad for the lowered springs, not to mention speed bumps.

That size does sound good...I was going to order 245/45 17 but maybe I will go 255/50 to get a little more sidewall for my new rims (still waiting to get down south to pick them up!).

255/45 would give you a little more sidewall and still keep your speedo accurate.
