The sunroof appears to be jammed on the passenger side...motor and switch are good..so it looks like I have to remove roof panels to gain access. Anybody have the procedure for doing this? Thanks in advance, George.

Be Careful! That's how I really screwed mine up. The panel jammed on one side, and I forced it closed when the rain started, that bent the rails and the rest is history.

If you have a service manual, it shows how to remove the sunroof panel, but be aware, you've gotta remove the headliner to get it out. I decided it just wasn't worth it.

good luck!

The pop up will open on drivers side only...so maybe the pop up mechanism on the passenger side is somehow jamming the main roof from opening.(It cant be moved even with the manual allen wrench)...so looks like I gotta pull the entire headliner out....****...oh well what are weekends for anyway...George

When you find out what fixes it could you please post the solution??? My 1990 did the same thing last weekend and I also closed it manually with a pull from my hand while also operating the motor. Same thing with only the drivers side pop up now working. Doug

I've gone through the same thing. Turns out, I didn't lube the rails enough and it jammed on the passenger side too. The headliner has to be removed and in order to do this, you need to remove the A-pillar panels. This takes time but is pretty straight-forward.

SO the moral of this story is, use the lube or face excruciating pain. HEY!! I'm talking about the sunroof....get your minds outta the gutter! :D
