AMEN...but WOW that sucker was SOOOOO much fun to drive and be seen in. They made a car 13 years ago that still looks sooo fly. One thing the Q did for sure is made me laugh at people when they tell me how much they paid for their cars. Like all that money and that's all the car you got I paid $4400 and felt like .....a grown Man in a real Man's car. Sitting back with the Alpine playing some Django Reinhardt smooth cruisin' the Interstates. Such a loss....just wont start... aint that a B***h. Just a whole lot of car thats all. It was not her time to go....she didn't ever do me wrong. NICOclub rocks. Always ready to help very impressive. thanks everyone

Yeah, I see your point.

On my soapbox, this whole auto industry is a huge scam. You paid $4400 for your Q, and some sucker probably paid the same price on a poot-butt '92 Honda Civic or something. It's a scam, sure Hondas are good cars but let's not overdo things here Mr. auto industry!

If the owner was aware of the problem and kept driving, its unfortunately the owners fault.

Anyway, sorry for your loss! Nothing will put a sinking feeling in your heart harder than a dead Q45. If you're anything like me, it won't be your last Q.

Good Morning,

I would still think that motor needs to be turned over by hand, it strikes me that your jumping to the worst conclusion. I'm not sure how your friend showed you that the starter is good, the car was displaying other signs of problems before it "locked" up.. cheap jumper boxes like I have and you just bought don't always have enough juice to turn a motor with a dead battery..

Just guessing by the info presented but you should take this car into a good mech.. Technician who knows what he is doing before you write her off!

Also, if the car is in good condition, and if you paid that much she should be, you may want to do some research on putting a JDM engine in her. I know I have seen some threads on it and they are available pretty cheap, and when you got done with it you would have a nice car with a Good motor..

i would have to agree i blew my motor last year (not due to chain guides) and just finished the jdm motor and transmission install i have yet to see how it runs as i was waiting on active fluid so this weekend is the big test and ill let you know how it goes cost wise theres a jdm importer in phillythat sells jdm motor and transmission for 1500 i picked it up myself then for new rubber mounts allaround(motor, transmission, differential, exhaust, sway bar, steering rack, stabilizer links)~700 fluids another 200 total not including time comes to ~2500 but i had all the new plenum hoses and such from my old motor they were 6 months old. IMO if it works its worth it
