SO yesterday I had my radiator flushed with distilled water and 30% anitfreeze and 2 bottles of watter wetter. I also had the transmission flushed, I chose to use BG's own syn fluid to give it a try. The Mrs and I were on our way on a little colorado road trip through the mountains and over some passes. On the way up I baught a can of bg44k and the intake cleaner I sprayed the whole can in and then went and got a fill up. The Q did Awsome!!!! the temp needle didnt move one inch the tanny shifted super smooth and it pulled all the way to the top of the continential divide (12,154ft) a pass called independance pass on our way to aspen. On the twisties on the way down the new suspesnion was awsome it hugged the curves and stayed very flat. The new brakes were more then enough to slow me down when the retard in front of me didnt downshift and slammed on the brakes. All in all it was a wonderful trip and the Q did wonderful at high altitude. Just gotta get that darn alignment problem solved.

Its pretty sweet when u zoom past everyone on a 8% grade goin over Vail pass at 10,500ft and still acelerating :ylsuper :D

Go DenverQ!!! Your post brings back fond memories for me. I've made the trip from Los Angeles to Boulder 4 times in the past few years. Thin air aside, the drive is always fantastic! I go for the snow, but I'd much rather drive than fly, even if it means losing a couple days' time. I have a cousin that lives in Frisco with his wife, so I have a place to stay right next to Breck. Hmmmm...maybe it's time for another trip....

Kinda OT - but "Road trip" related -

I took the I35 on a road trip this weekend - from UTK (Knoxville) to Atlanta. Saw a bunch of old Q45s everywhere...some I wondered if belonged to folks on this forum...

Anyway, while I was down in ATL, I realized I needed to get my oil changed before heading back, so I reluctantly took it to Jiffy Lube. I *thought* I was lucky in that I got there like 10 min before they closed (and they agreed to do the change) so they went ahead and did it quickly. Anyway, being paranoid like I am, I got worried about them having done it so quickly. So, I pull over into a parking lot and crack to the hood to look around. I look into the hole where the oil cap WAS and see parts moving around and oil sputtering. Being as pissed and freaked out as I was I thought they had taken it off and forgotten to put it back on - so I slammed the hood shut - called them en route and got there pretty quick.

Boy did I feel like a dumbass when I opened the hood up again and they found the oil cap sitting farther up on the engine. Oh well, I guess I did have a reason to be upset in that they didn't put the damn thing back on again. Thank God for my paranoia in this case.

At any rate - the drive back was great. I love how quiet the car is and how I can cruise along past everyone effortlessly.

Road trips in Infinities are fun!

When you start out with 300 lb/ft of torque even a 10,000 foot hill only decreases it by 33% and everyone else has the same problem and the temp is 30F colder than sealevel so you gain 3%.Not many cars equal age have the torque to weight ratio of a Q.

I changed the transmission filter on monday and cleaned all the gunk off the magnet and at the bottom of the pan and I swear it shifts much more smooth now. Its like a whole new car maybe after the the alignment thing gets cleared up Ill be able to take a longer road trip maybe to LA or Atlanta I dont know you guys got any good routes that are senic and pretty?
