At what rpm [idle [650]] and with what type brand viscosity index temperature of fluid.

Some where between 3.5 and 5.0 Gallons Per Minute depending.

Obviously more the the external flow rate of AT which is less than 3 QUARTS per minute

About 15 second to circulate [without HICAS]

Expert shops have a combo flow and psi testing gauge [$600] so easy to diagnose WHERE the problem is .

Reviving a thread from the dead I see.

Turkey-basting the Q resivour 5-6x once per year has allowed me a 100% trouble free steering system for 239,000+ miles and 14 years so far.....not bad for $10 per year of DIY cheap maintenance routine. Of course, some will insist on pisssing away $100 per year on a "mechanical flush machine " to accomplish similar results....except their wallet would be $1400 lighter than mine!!!!
