Finally found a manometer [0>40" W.C.] that would survive the plenum vacuum after the TB and provide the needed resolution to measure the TB dispersion [pressure/flow drop].
The following were measured WOT at 6,500 rpm [70F /900 AMSL]:
1. After stock filter and air box and oem horn = 4.0 " Water column2. After MAF = 11.0" Water column3. Input to TB = 12.2" Water column4. Inside plenum using FR port = 17.3" Water colum ~~ 0.6 psi negative.
Better than I guessed, the system is only losing 4%...... [17.3/28 times 6.6%{per psi}] to the plenum. Previously I surmised that the TB and plenum neck would be equal to the MAF intake totals so I was using 22" not the real 17.3".
The entire system was spotless........not even a tiny bit of oil or carbon for the test!
Add 1.7" W.C. to the above incrementally from step #1 if you not have the 2 inch aux air [lower oem air box mod to the lower chamber].
12 HP at MAX is on the table for any intake improvements and the MAF has the most restriction. 7 times more than the oem air filter. The TB is next at 5" W.C.............the entire intake is either 3.0" or 4.7" before the 1.0" air filter.
The industry standard for flow bench testing is 25" Water column so 17" seems right in line ........another 8" from plenum runner to and thru intake valves.
