I am curious: what was this? The shield on the bottom of the engine compartment?

What's your favorite formulation? Our ambient temperatures are about the same, but I suspect I'm a little more gentle on the brakes. I'm still getting that "scrunch" noise from the fronts right before stopping at low speeds and on release... it gets pretty annoying in stop and go traffic.

I may go ahead and replace the front pads just for the peace and quiet.

The Bendix Axxis Metal Master pads have a horrific groan moan at final 6" of stop.......hot or cold..........10x worse than any oem pad. Caused by an uneven pad deposit on rotor...........impossible to bed in perfectly

Such are the things one puts up with to gain a 150F friction coefficient improvement.

The -U93 pads are FF, the -U91 are FE.

Noticed that California is having trouble with Copper from brake pad dust getting into water supply. Semi metallics use iron, copper, titanium shavings as the metal........hard to find a CHEAP replacement metal that is just softer than rotor [cast gray iron] and conducts heat well.

I am laughing at the CA lawsuit for Nissan brakes since the new Federal Standard for brakes went into effect in 2001 FMVSS -135 and Nissan complies fully.

Still find strange that cold pads are defined as 100C [212F]. A temperature which may not be reached in a panic 60 mph stop when the ambient temperature is below 40F.

qtech-the u92 pads are coded FF. had to have holes retapped today to install new underbelly sheild.tech wouldnt attempt replacing front sway bar bushings without new hardware incase bolts stripped or broke upon removal-is this common?
