don't have remote from former Q? they are all the same, just need reprogram.
I can't answer your primary question definitively. i have had two rear window/lock amps fail, and in each case, they just stopped working. if door was unlocked, have to lock it manually with thumb tab on inside and vice versa. also, the two flash 'locked/armed' confirmation when using the remote would be defeated. so, maybe start with a known good BCM in your case as opposed to individual ones.
