99t black on black ..

What's the best wax to throw on this baby? It looks great and id like to keep it that way..

Even a little dirty, and with a camera phone

And for my perfect leather seats? Example..

Id like to keep them that way too.. So im asking the experts.Nothing I hate more than an awesome car that dosen't look its best.

PS - any ideas how to safely remove that wack fake wood someone stuck on?? Probably the same idiot that put denso plugs in it.. Poor Q . I'm glad shes in good hands now! Heres the pic - laugh away..

I just completed a 4 step paint process that took 6 hours to complete.Using a Porter Cable polisher I applied Sonus sfx 1 polish to remove all surface scratches/watermarks/swirls followed by Sonus sfx 2 fine polish to perfect the gloss, then Klasse All In One polish/sealant followed by a final coat of Klasse Hi Gloss Sealant Glaze to lock in the shine and provide a long lasting Acrylic finish-my experience with this combo allows 6-9 months full protection from the elements with excellent shine and beading. The main decision you need to make is to use a Sealant as I did or to use a natural "wax" pros and cons to each depending on your priorities of ultimate shine/level of protection/long lasting/easy to apply/etc

http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=225181I used the Lexol on my 90Q's seats. My seats have no tears but are some what hard and resistant to leather conditioner soaking in.

Now when you did this, what time of day was it? I tried waxing the car after a wash one day while it was sunny and the results were not desirable.

6 hours doesn't afford much time out of the sun. Did you do it indoors? Did you wash the car first? I've been using a waterless wash that you spray on, let it haze, then buff off. It's been a while since I've used water on my Q.

What's the best wheel cleaner? I bought some Nascar foaming spray that doesn't work very well. Plus, the BBS wheels aren't the easiest to clean.

Here's a great discussion from earlier this year:

Everyone likes Zaino, but Falk uses Meguires - always keeps his Y33 sparkling clean and beautiful.

Always hand wash right before polishing/waxing and only polish/wax in the shade or in the garage if it is windy to prevent airbourne dust/dirt from landing on the finish which will then be ground into the paint by the polishing machine. If polishing in the garage, good strong flourescent or halogen lighting helps you see surface scratches/watermarks/blemishes easier and allows you to check your results as you work

Ahh. I don't have a "garage" per se to do it indoors. (We converted it into a bedroom)

So I guess it would be best for me to get my car detailed like that at a shop?

I've recently used a product called DuraGloss. I use a bonding agent and a paint polish, no wax needed. A single polish coat last for ~2 months and looks absolutely fantastic.

You can get a 12oz bottle of each for ~$6.50 at CarQuest or on-line.

no garage,no problem if you can find a shady spot and a day with light to no wind. I have even sought out commercial 4-5 story garages to use on weekends when businesses were closed and the garages were empty in the past!

I've got to throw in my 2 cents for Meguire's NXT Tech Wax. You can wax your Q before the dust ever begins to settle. It's a liquid and goes on thin and wipes off easily. I can apply it in under an hour and wipe it off in less than that. A nice afternoon in your driveway or the shade of a tree in a park. It puts out a nice deep shine but only lasts maybe a couple of months. It's so easy to apply so that's the tradeoff for having to wax a little more often. Available everywhere (Walmart). Give it a try.

Ok. I was considering purchasing the Zaino Ultimate protection detail kit. The pictures were amazing.

I've been too lazy to wash and detail my cars but I'm a big fan of Meguiar's products. Their leather conditioner has an amazing scent!

The Q's shape makes it kind of fun to detail. No odd surfaces or anything to deal with, for the most part. I am NOT looking forward to washing and cleaning the big Range Rover. I think I'll pay a kid to do that.

Good Article! But, I'm still scared to do buff my Q.
