I just wired in a cd changer in my 'new' 92 Q. I'm considering mounting the unit on the transmission hump in front of the back seat. Does anybody know if theres anything right under there that might be damaged by the self tapping screws for the brackets? (electrical, hydraulic, fuel lines, etc?)Thanks for the help

PalmerwmdThanks for the invite. I'll definitely come out if I can get the day off. I won't know my schedule for June until mid May.

WoodmisterI thought about putting it in the glove box, but ruled it out because of the mounting angle and the opening and closing action might shake it around too much. I know most people go with the trunk but I really wanted to be able to sit in the car and change discs. I had a trunk mount in a previous car and it was a hassle. I think the transmission hump is a good choice because its not in the way of anyones feet and its accessible from the drivers seat. I just dont want to drill into anything thats down there.

why the @#$% does it say I'm driving my moms car below my name, thats really annoying

I just have a quick question about your install. Do you still have the Bose head unit? Is it a Frequency Modulation changer or is it wired to the head unit? If you connected it to the Bose head unit, what model changer did you use? The reason I ask is I have a 94 Q45 with a bad changer & wanted to replace it but I don't know what changer could be wired with the OEM Head unit & I want to control it through the head unit.

Thanks & good luck with the custom install.

My Q45

I'm doing the FM modulated deal for now (JVC X1100) because I didn't want to replace the head unit and all the speakers at the same time, this way seemed the most economical and the sound is good. My original H/U (92)doesn't have any changer controls so that must have been a later option. Good luck

Nate

Hey I was just on Ebay and somebody has a changer there from a 94 Q you may want to check out, I'd post a link but I have no idea how to do it.
