Q: can i use a transmission cooler to cool engine oil??

can i use a transmission cooler as a oil cooler?

what i saw tday was a mercedes tranmission cooler and a volvo power steering cooler and i would llike to use them to cool my engine oil. preferably the transmission unit as it seemed like a really good size (14-16"tall, 3" wide and 1.5-2" deep). had threaded fittings one on top and one on the bottom. The volvo unit was smaller with smaller threaded fittings. measured maybe 6-8" wide, 3-4" tall and maybe 1.5" deep.

they are all basically small radiators... they will work fine.
