Hi All,

In the middle of November, I replaced my front brake pads and rotors along with some other work. I've put a little over 3000 miles on them and am happy to say they look and feel great.

I used Bradi rotors (an offshoot of Brembo) that come drilled and slotted, and Rotex Kevlar pads. This combo works very well if you like aggressive brakes. The initial "bite" is significantly stronger than the stock setup, no fade, and easier to modulate. I like to play "Beat the ABS" where you jump on the brakes as hard as possible without triggering the ABS. It is much easier to sense a wheel lockup with this setup than with stock.

I checked them on a lathe when new and they required NO cutting! I don't think I ever had that happen before. I will pull them at 6000 miles and check them again.

So far, I am willing to recommend this setup.

SD, thanks for the information. Where can one acquire these? Do they have a web presence?

Why don't you weigh them next time and measure the rotor surface thickness (i.e., don't included the venting gap)?

Good information. I am surprised the Kevlar pads don't require some warming to work efficiently.

I've used Porterfield pads on a 240Z used for track days and they did require some warming. These Rotex pads require no warming at all. They are designed as a street pad so I suspect they have adjusted the compound somewhat.

I found the discs and pads at Brake Warehouse, 800-814-0702. They are in SC (Greenville, I think) and don't have a web site that I know of. They are not associated with brakewarehouse.com. I've used them for 10 years and always get excellent service and solid advice.
