before you think about posting up how weak sprotmax wheels are just stop. I'm not asking you for opinions on the wheels. I have been running sprotmax wheels for years now on my track car and i'm still progressing and doing it faster than those who can afford to shell out money for expensive rims. sorry, ok here goes.

First off, its not even for my car lol. My girl has an all stock s14 but is now ready to dress it up. She likes the sport max 962's in 17x9 all around. She wont be needed coilovers as this is just a DD to work and when i dont feel like driving my truck around town, so springs are in order.

Question:Will she need to run spacers up front for just some tein s-tech springs (maybe tanabe)? I dont know much about 14s, just 13s so this may seem like a stupid question, but i am not familiar with that app. I'm almost 100% sure i'ma need spacers up front, but how big?

Like i said, this is my chix car so if i can avoid spacers, i will. I'd feel horrible if i get a phone call one morning at work from her crying cuz her rim fell off from spacers not being torqued down. which brings me to my next Q.

Since i would like to avoid spacers if possible, the make a 17x(gay)7 rim with a slightly lower offset i believe, how would the fitment be with those on the same set up?

Thanx wheel gods.

I dont think 17x9 +35 will clear suspension. You'll need like a 15mm spacer or something around that size. A 17x7 of the same offset will clear... I'm not saying it'll look pretty tho, lol.

seriously lol. I was hoping a 5mm would clear it so i could just get some slip on spacers, but i guess i'm not lucky. i just got rid of a pair of 15mm PBM spacers too dammit. lol. grrrr. thanx yo.

On my s13, I have 9.5 +35 on the front, and i needed a 15mm spacer to clear my coilovers making them +20 effective. I have less than 1mm of clearance from my coils.

Springs will give you a tad more room, but your going to need around a +25 or less i believe, hopefully other people with 9 inch wheels on s14s can give you exact answers.

I had 006's in 17x9 +35 all around. The rear was fine but the front needed a 5mm spacer to clear the strut. It still rubbed at full lock though.

hey tomm. i am looking at getting the sportmax 006. but doing the 17x7 up front and the 18x9.5 in the back. the back should be fine but the front you think it will need a spacer just to sit out a little.

i have a 97 ... mines lowered 4 inches on springs only (stock perches are still there). ive got 17x9in the rear with a +35 and it is flush with the fender. i didnt wanna roll the fender so i used a 245 treadwith, wich works perfect. my front is 17x8 +35 with a 215 treadwith and it is just inside the fender lip as well. the particular wheels ive got are drifz model 505. they clear the strut bodies by maybe about 3/4 inch......

the drifz "venom" wheels hav the same specs and kinda look like the 006 sportmaxes....... ( if you wanna be sure it will work and like that particular style, that is what i would recommend you do)
