My car has a greenish puddle beneath it. It's coming from the area where the coolant fan attaches to the engine. I don't know much about cars, therefore I'm not able to tell you the name of the part.

Anyway, it has about 4 or 5 bolts that connect to the engine block. The drip is coming from the bottom bolt.

History of my car:

Bought used w/ 62k miles1991 Q45a w/ 110000 milesGuides have been doneTranny has been replacedPlenum has been off to replace hoses

At first I thought it was active sus fluid, but it was not thick enough and it did not have that pungent smell that a/s fluid has.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Leaky water pump. Easy and relatively cheaply fixed by replacing water pump.

Thankx for the quick replies :)

The price range I have seen on the web is $56.61 - $93.75, with prices in between. The low price and the high price are from Infiniti dealerships.

Are there items that I should order with the w/pump?

Look at what labor will be done just to replace the pump and go from there. First thing is the belts (~$25). If yours are old or cracking replace them. Look at the fan (~$50) too for cracks. They have been known to fall apart if neglected for too long, easily destroying the $400 radiator. This isn't a direct overlap, but consider replacing the thermostat(~$10) and the thermostat housing (~$60), since they're right next door to the water pump. New upper and lower radiator hoses (~$10 each) aren't a bad idea either, though you can leave them on to do the pump. I recommend a piece of cardboard over the radiator to protect the very delicate fins while you're working on the car.
