Putting together a BBQ in August

I am coming home from Japan on Vacation!

I will be in Illinois for two weeks from July 31st to August 15th on vacation.I will be flying in with my two oldest boys and my wife will arrive August 6th with the baby.

We are planning a HUGE BBQ at my mom and dad's place in Galesburg, IL on the 7th and are planning to have some live entertainment, as well.There will be a small quantity of alcohol provided, but BYOB is best.

Also, the lead guitarist of my band here in Japan is flying over and will be staying for about 10 days. We are planning to get together with a bass player friend of mine, another guitarist and a vocalist to try and play a small gig at one of the local bars in town, possibly the night of the 6th.

There are several hotels in the area, some cheap some reasonably priced and some that aren't so cheap.

The hotel I have used before seems to be in worse shape that it was the two previous times I have been home and met up with some of you.

I know it's early, but wanted to get the word out. This is going to be a massive endeavor and I and my mom and dad want to be prepared.

This can be a NICO BBQ and we can possibly arrange a small car gathering at a parking lot of one of the local businesses for Sunday morning for a couple hours before people have to head out.

I'm thinking I'll try and make a road trip out of it. That pretty ballin that tomo is going to fly out.

That would be cool, Matt. Yeah, Tomo is coming in two days after I get in. We're playing a gig at a bar the night before the BBQ.

Anyway, gang...don't forget the BBQ is just over a two months away. Within prior, I'll list different hotels in the area for you to decide to stay at. My wife and family and I already have our place picked out, so you can't stay there...lol.

Don't need a bunch of hooligans getting us in trouble....lololol

Hey, all.

If you coming in from out of town, I suggest you get your reservations real soon. I talked to one of the hotels on the edge of town and there appears to be a few different events going on from a university's homecoming to a few weddings.

Get your reservations soon before all rooms are booked!

5 weeks till the BBQ. If you haven't gotten your hotel reservations, you better hurry! Rooms are filling up fast.

You're more than welcome to come, just be sure to get yourself a reservation at any of the hotels in the area. Galesburg has several to choose from.

It's not much longer till the BBQ and I'll be home at the end of next week. WOOT!!!

If any of you need the address to the BBQ location, please PM me by tonight so I can get you the info. I'll be at rehearsal tonight with the band I am playing a gig with tomorrow night, though, so I may not get back to you right away.
