cat-delete pipes are realtively easy, I had mine done in 2 hours without a lift. THe only problem with these is the accesability to the bolts from the exhaust manifold being so damned hard to get to..

Headers? GOod luck man...everyone I've known (prof. mechanics) to put them on says 4-5 hours worth of work. I'd rather pay someone. IF they're in there anyways, putting the test pipes on would be a sinch.

if you have planty of tools and know how I don't see why not do it yourself, a FSM is highly recomemded, take your time and pay attention to what you're doing, I can't imagine an aircraft would be any easier to deal with, you might have to pull the frotn wheels or maybe the font bumper but it's all just spinning wrenches, you might also consider getting in touch with your local Z car club (zcca.org) there might be a local shop they can recomend or maybe just a local member experienced that might be able to help

i really dont know much about cars never been to big into them until i got my 350z. you had mentioned a FSM what is that and were could i get my hands on one.i did happen to go by autozone and pepboys but they didnt carry any manuels on 350z. and working on an aircraft is alot more easier then what people think we got manuels to tell you which way to turn a nut to tighten it.

I did my own header install on my 97 firebird formula...NEVER AGAIN!! I had access to a lift, knowledgable mechanics, and friends to help. It still took me 3 solid days of work...and they leaked. Take it to someone, and if if leaks...they fix it!

FSM is short for Factory Service Manual, you might be able to find a PDF download or locate a used one on ebay, the dealer sells them but they are not cheap, pretty well detailed on how to diagnose most things they assume you know which way to turn the wrench of course if a bolt falls out and the engine stalls people don't die!
