I've got a beautiful S14 swap lined up locally and i'm just wondering if i'm missing anything for my swap. So far i've got:

Greddy RSPL Fmic with bov, MBC, boost guageACT Street/strip clutch kitHigh capacity oil panKoyo Radiator180sx tail garnish (got rice?)Walbro 255Planning on sending my harnesses to Yury Lyalko for 200 bucks.

Is there any wierd fitment issues with the 1989 240sx and the blacktop S14? A local guy around here was telling me all this about needing different mounts and my steering wont line up. I think he's full of missinformation but i better do my research before dropping the $2200 on the S14 swap. I want to make this car about 280whp, extremely durable and easy to drift. Those are my goals, is there anything i've overlooked? Any further recomendations? Thanks

It will fit fine, if you plan on having power steering, you will need the resivoir and lines from a 91+ 240sx.

the only think I can think of (that the guy was trying to tell you) is that some of the AFTERMARKET turbo elbows had issues clearing the steering shaft. But it uses the same (KA) mounts. Drop in.But you will need a SR downpipe IIRC.and like 007 said above, PS lines/reservoir if you want PS in the car HTH

PS. with any FMIC, you will need to drill a hole in thebattery tray for the piping to go through. And either relocate the batt to trunk or get a slim battery.

while the engine is out, u should upgrade all the exhaust gasket to s15 metal gaskets, change the water pump, and thermostat. on the 89 all u have to do is bend the power steering line over to the other side as temporary... change it out as soon as u get the money. careful not to over bend keep the bends smooth. when u install the walbro, make sure u use a metal hose clamp and not a zip tie. gasoline wreck havoc on plastics. only the hks turbo elbow it will not clear the steering column without modification. just a get a greddy its cheaper and way better in quality and performances i.m.o. fyi i dont think u will being seeing 280hp to the wheels. the s14 injectors are the same as s13 inj. soo you'll probably max out at 250hp the most. but just make sure u do everything while the engine is out, or you will regret it later. saves u lots on labor too if u have a shop do it. 200 bucks to send it to yuri, yuri is a good guy his harnesses are clean and nice. oh yeah if u get a fmic kit for your car, make sure u get the s14 one. but just run the hotpipe through ur airbox hole and no through the side like the s14 is. u will need to drill a hole where the battery is at for the cold side. u will need to relocate ur battery to the back or get a smaller battery. the mbc is a ok choice, but when u get some more money invest in a electronic one where u can control while ur in the car. u dont wanna be popping ur hood in front of a crowd. keep it low key ya know. sleeper status is a.o.k. i think i've covered everything. good luck man.

I've already got an S13 FMIC kit, but i doubt it'll be too hard to adapt. Thanks for the heads up on the turbo elbows. I have an SS elbow, and the S14 has the oem one, i'm sure one of the two will work. I've got some powersteering parts, but untill my engine is in the bay i wont know for sure if i have what i need.
