Hello all, I have an S14 with an RB. The tach is reading 1/3 off. I was wondering if anyone's put an aftermarket tach inside the factory gauge cluster. Defi makes a tach that is nearly the same size as the factory tach. What kind of clearance is there in the back of the gauge cluster? Has anyone done this before?

I wouldn't think it would be clearance behind the gauge cluster that would be the issue. The wiring for the cluster is run on that green flexible plastic stuff on the back of the cluster, as seen below. You would probably run into big issues trying to get through/around that. If you could fit the tach inside the space from the stock tach casing it might work.If you could figure that out, you would probably have enough room to fab and mount something, if I remember right it is a little "roomy" back there.

There has to be a gear or something available that can make the stock one work. Lemmie see what i get by searching.
