putting a side airbag to a versa

hi there,i just recently bought a versa in south america as you could imagine you dont get a decent standart equipment for the price you pay here. the thing is i love these cars and i paid more than 20K bucks for it and it doesnt even come with side airbag nor abs and standart safety equipment... however we all know safety is the most important thing here so i would like if its possible to put the originall side airbag to this car, ive seen it for sale on ebay. the good news is that it comes with driver airbag. lol. thanks !!

Dude, I though about that too but there are a couple of things to consider first:1. U.S. Versa's have the side airbag light on the dashboard - We (Tiida's)don't2. There's the issue of replacing the ECU so the sideairbag can work (surely there's no one in our countries who wants to or can reprogram an ECU)3. Our Tiida's don't have the side sensors for those airbags so go figure out where to place them (if that can be done)

So we end with 2 options:1. We keep the current car and feel happy about not worrying for an unnecesary deployment and future replacement of the side airbag 2. Sell the car and buy a new fully options loaded Tiida ('09 comes with everything you wish for, except the 1.8 engine and rear disk)
