I've look on the forums many times and can't find specific info on this subject. I keep finding the reverse, but that seems very different to me.

Don't ask why but I have a 1992 s13 KA that I put in my 1996 s14 SE. the engine is in. The original wiring harness is still on the car, but not attached to the engine.

I was told it can be wired to pass inspection (don't really necessary in my case) but how? And will the check engine light and s14 gage sensor lights still come or off like they are supposed to

Also I've been to carfinche.com and read the manuals for both cars. Looks like there are certain plugs, sensor, etc that are not a feature on the s13 engine. WTF? Do you leave those "hanging" or what?

I've been told my mechanics that there are certain sensors that may need to be added from the s14 engine, but I no longer have that engine (someone trashed it). Anyone know what sensors other than the O2?

Also do you think there is splicing involved

Also is there an specific order that it needs to be connected to avoid damaging the engine.

ANY HAVE A VIDEO OR STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

I really love the car, but I don't have alot of money. I haven't driven it in a year. I will eventually put the "correct" or "better" engine in it, but for right now I just want be behind the wheel again. Did I mentioned that the tags are bad and it's at a friend's house. Oh and the money that I had to get everything done just got spent on getting it out of a tow yard.

I'm looking for a mechanic or 240 lover in the Portland OR area to help with labor, advice, supervision, support, money, lol.

the easy way to get this car running is to use the s13 engine harness and ecu. you may need to do some wiring to get it to work.

How would that help? The S13 is OBD1 and the s14 is OBD2.

Seems like Nico used to be a place to get real technical advice, now it appears to be over ridden with the cosmetically challenged. I used to count on getting an intelligent answer within 24 hours, now who knows. Come on fellow 240sx lovers and scholars, I'm really needing some sound advice... Let's put our heads together.
