Putting a new engine in opinions needed!

It has been a long road since I have bought my 240, I got scammed and I am still in the process of the BAR investigating. I have no more time to wait and need a new engine put in by January. Any ways to the point I will have around 3-4k to do this and wanted opinions if any one has had experience with any of my options. Right now my plan is to eventually go ka-t so i want to make the best decision to save money down the road but i also need something reliable right now as this will be my daily driver.

I currently have a KA2.4 DE 125,xxx miles the head is warped so no head.

So what would you recommend:

1. Buy a stock new/ re manufactured long block. I've looked on some website's and could not find a brand new long block just re manufactured ones, are there any sites you would recommend for this?

2. Buy a new head and the AMS advance rebuild kit. Main thing i want to make sure if i did this was that i would have a very reliable engine after the rebuild. http://www.amsperformance.com/...d=303

3.Push it really close to when i need my engine put in and get enough saved up for the AMS/Turbo240 Crate Motor. This would be reliable but I am just not completely sure if I will be able to swing the money it will cost, it would be close. Any anyone else have any places they would recommend to pick up a crate engine or rebuild kit?!?!?
