Putting a KA-T into Mazda Miata or Hyundai Elantra

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I don't see why there would be any problems putting a KA into small cars like the Miata or Elantra

Because the KA makes 150 bhp, while the lil 1.8 in the Miata makes the same amount of power more efficiently, and the Miata motor was design with boost in mind. Also the KA weights more then the motor in the Miata. The Miata motor is also a very rev happy engine makes power all the way up to 7500 and with lil mods to the drive train it will make power up to 8.5k. Thats why smaller turbos like the gt28r on the Miata own.

yea but a KA in a miata, cmon never done before. and so your saying a KA in an elantra would be some good **** huh. Plus USDM Nissan secretley built thee KA with turbo in mind too. Check it out i emailed Nissan and here is what they said

"Hi, yes the USDM 240SX motor(KA24DE) was built for a turbo application. We decided not to release it with a turbo because if we did it would have been better than any car...ever including the 2005 Mazda Miata even if it did have a turbo, and that would not be fair to other car manufacturers.

Thank you for your inquiry

Mr. Nissan"

well there it is straight from Nissan. Please next time do not doubt the power of the KA or prepared to be

If you wanna put a KA in the Elantra, I recommend getting the fwd KA out of an Altima.

I think you both should off yourselves...

A CA into a Miata would be nice though.

I think the "letter from Nissan" made me LOL, and puts sstomek on my "cool mofos" list.

A good motor swap for an Elantra is a mitsu 4g63, its practically a drop in affair, and that gives you something to go from, then you can step up to some mods, get yourself a nice little sleeper.

Haha! "We decided not to release it with a turbo because if we did it would have been better than any car..."I thought this was a goal for all car manufacturers?

Most Miata guys with hp dreams over here use the 323 GT-R engine, same block as the 1.8 N/A.http://www.garaget.org/show.php?car=13356
