Hello All,
It has been some time since I have been on this forum as my Q has been off the road for two years. Well, its time to bring her back.
It seems as though the time just sitting has not been too damaging to the car. She started up easily and settled down to a nice smooth idle. The AC blows cold, the transmission shifts smoothly, and all the electronics work (except one of the rear windows, very odd).
I am replacing all of the rubber under the hood as well as the water pump, belt tensioners, plugs, and ks. Add to that a change of all of the fluids.
I see from the posts that the tokico blues are still the only option for shocks. I'm surprised that someone hasn't had a set made by Carrera or Penske.
I need tires the Yoko dbs doesn't seem to exist any more. Has anyone used the Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals? They seem to have generally positive reviews on the Corvette and MouseTang forums. I'm wondering how they will hold up to a 4500 pound car. If you have a different tire preference in 245/50-16 size I would love to hear it.
I have also noticed a number of very low mileage G50s for sale here in Florida for CHEAP money. It appears as though a well cared for midlife G50 is pretty much unsaleable. I guess that means we can all have a nice one for each day of the week.
