putting 06 headlights on an 03 g35c

i was checking a car today for in-op drl's on an 03 g35c. after spendind an hr checking the relays drl module bulbs and various powers and grounds.i notticed the high beams are in the hid and not the fog lights, the advisor then tells me the guy put 06 headlights on his 03. Thanx for telling me right away!!!!!!!!!!! so i dig a little bit farther and notice the output power to the LF headlight drl has 12v going into the headlight connector but on the opposite end the wire does not go to the drl/ fog bulb. not having any more time i had to put the car back together. might dig a little farther next week but just wanted to know if anyone out there has done ths converson and if so. did they splice the wire and bypass the connector? or what did you do to get the drls to work?
