I got a friend that hooked me up with some espiler 2 inch drop springs for the vert. We got the front ones on with little problems (if you count destroying 6 socket drives little) the struts were never replaced on the car so the bolts were nice and frozen. We went to do the rear and to be honest couldn't figure out how to get to the top of the strut towers in the rear, I took all the panels off and the only thing I can think of is its under the top somewhere. So whats the story? Do I have to wrestle the top assembly off the car or can I go through somewhere else? It looks kinda funny running around with the *** of the car in the air, I've done searches for it and no dice.

the rears are a b**** to get to.... for me, i took out the back seat and (with the top up) felt around on the strut towers... on either side right behind the metal frame supporting the seat back....

after i got them started i found that i could get to some of the bolts through the trunk.

the rears are a pain on the verts. its almost impossible to see the top bolts. you pretty much have to work by feeling.

sorry if this didnt make any sense. im half asleep

There's a rubber cover. If you remove it, you will see two nuts.

Yes.

And then you can get to one on each side from the trunk and the other from the back seat (take out the top of the back seat and have a ratchet wrench).

ratchet wrenches FTW!

You might want to take a dremel to the brace for the back seat to notch it above the struts. This is a trick we "coiled" vert guys do to fit our coilovers and have room for the adjustment knobs. It will give you some extra room, but be careful you don't cut yourself on the sharp edges.

Pics once you're done please...

Well I got everything done finally and we have a small problem. When I have been driving it for a while and park it, I'm getting the smell of burning plastice or rubber coming from the driver side rear tire . There is no rub at all anywhere. I checked the splash shield to see if it was rubbing or pressed against the exhaust. No dice there either. Anyone having this problem? Pics will come when the sun comes up.

It's nice to have a vert eh? A little heavier than coupes/hatches so they end up lower. It was about a half inch when I swapped my suspension from my coupe to my vert.
