Find a aftermarket shop that does turbo ADD ONS this is not something to mess with if done half assed. You will need to do it right and not boost too much on stock internals as stock motor has decent compression ratio as is and boost to much and things will blow up. Most factory cars have lower static compression due to boost building it. You will need intercoolers, piping, maybe bigger injectors, remapped fuel so it does not lean out at higher boost and fry engine. Must be done right or you are asking to blow up the motor. Search site for turbo's folks have done it and you need to follow someone who has done one and do not skip any steps. Just my 2 cents i had twin turbo Z and all the guys with non turbo Z wanted to just add on the parts but it is not that simple if you want it to be reliable.

if you have the stock motor on an 87 it should be a z24i. the only nissan pickups to have the de were 98 and up. 90-97 had the ka24e. im pretty sure the part numbers on manifolds are different for each model. so id do a little more research before picking up a de turbo mani.
I totally agree with rt22. 1 thing not done perfectly and youll trash everything. Ive found this out first hand by trusting some1 elses work.
Im looking into turbo-ing a vg33e on an 04 frontier and cant find much info because most people supercharge them as it was a stock option

first of all, before you look into throwing a turbo on your motor, you have to be sure that your motor is running at 100%. It may run fine for now, but if you've got a good 180k+ on the motor, throwing a turbo on there could easily push it over the edge and cause catastrophic failure. Go over your engine. Check your compression. Replace gaskets, spec stuff like valve lash. Make sure everything's running perfectly.

As for getting a turbo togeather, you're going to want a turbo(see some of the smaller turbos that 240s are running to get an idea of which one you should get), manifold, wastegate, blow off valve, some sort of intercooler, intercooler/intake piping, a bigger fuel pump(probably something like a walbro 255), bigger injectors, a bunch of fuel line and some way to tune(either a standalone system like megasquirt or a rising rate fuel pressure regulator[the standalone will be safter]). Do your research and get a complete parts list together BEFORE you start buying stuff.

This is NOT something for someone who doesn't know what they're doing. Even pros who've had years of experience working with turbocharger systems get headaches over adding a turbocharger to a naturally aspirated application. Especially one like this where there's no real previous R+D to go off of.

This WILL NOT BE CHEAP. Plan to spend around 5k for the whole thing. Probably more considering you may have to have a custom turbo manifold made along with custom downpipe, intercooler piping, intake, etc. Don't cheap out on parts. It's better to spend an extra couple hundred for a good part than another grand for a new block. Also, try to get someone who's done this kinda stuff to help walk you through it.
