Changed over just before Labor Day.

The spare is a full size and as far as I know, it has the monitor in it.

Should it have reset when I put it on? I drive it 30-45 mins each weekday at speeds from 0-90 each day and most of that is at 70mph (avg. 23.1 MPG btw!)

I'm 100% that if it was going to reset by itself, it would have already.

Anyway, the monitor still shows the reading from the spare in the trunk and it's showing low on air as well. (It has a blister on the sidewall).

Do I need to take it out of the trunk for awhile and drive it? Disconnect the battery? Dealer only? It sure seems that it should have reset itself to adjust for the new tire...right?

I doubt the spare has TPMS.

I am not certain either, but I think you are right!

Infiniti says to reinitialize the TPMS on Ms using consult even if you rotate the tires. Other infinitis reset the monitors after a rotate, but the Ms will throw the light. The spare doesn't have a TPMS unless you have installed it yourself. Its only meant for temporary use. I hope this helps

I'm not buying the temporary use thing. It's a stock tire on a stock rim. No different than the other 4.

That's BS if the spare doesn't use a TPMS. I'll be pissed & surprised if that's the case. Proper rotation method even includes working in the spare tire (as long as it's full size and regular use rated).

I'll stop by the dealer on the way home to see.

Ah! That is different ... I (and others too probably) thought you were referring to the temporary spare. Not one that has the stock wheel and is intended to be part of the normal tire rotation.

Of course, if you use directional tires, then you cannot do a normal 5 wheel rotation ... just front to back on each side.

Pretty positive the spare doesn't have one. It's pretty easy to distinguish between a TPMS and regular stem. You could add one. I have a few spare OEM ones. Hit me up. I'll do better than the dealers $137 for one.

Our OEM TPMS device is not part of the valvestem, but is mounted to the inside wheel surface.

Right?

I was not able to have the dealer look at it this past Friday, but might be able to tonight....

Ok. I'm convinced. Spare has no TPMS in it.

Dealer looked at it, tried to reset it, said the sensor was dead and offered to replace it. They never asked if it was the spare and I never told them.

Now I need to get the original tire replaced or live without TPMS. I'm pricing a tire now.
