"put put put" noise with exhaust

My cat-back is making a weird "put put put" noise when I'm off the gas and around 2000 RPM... I'm running a 2.25 pipe from the cat with no resonator. How can I get rid of this annoying/embarassing put put put

Possibly an exhaust leak? Generally an exhaust leak will be more of a ticking sound, but it's worth a shot. Did you just install this exhaust? Did you do it yourself?

It was done at meineke... Could it be the heatshield of the cat that's making that noise?

That would be a rattle or clanking sound. Something metallic.

Are you sure it's not back firing? Are you on the throttle or coming off of it? Exhaust often makes back firing a lot louder than it is with the stock muffler.

not enough back-pressure at partial throttle I would guess. Mine makes the same noises, kinda a blub-blub-blub noise like a old hot rod or something, just much quieter.

It onyl happens when Im off the throttle.. and when the RPM drops to around 2000 rpm... It's the loudest in 1st gear.

If I had to guess.. maybe backpressure?

Well Im sure its not back-firing... Im not running rich (a/f gauge) soo... why does put put put happen?

its probably casue the straighter your pipe, the more poping is gonna come out..

mine pops all the time , APEXI N1 catback... its normal from what i hear. It happens when i let off the gas as well... I get it in 4th most often, probably because I drive in 4th most

Happens to me too. Just put in some premium gas and some octane boost and it should fix that. It did for me.....hope that helps?!?
