i have a black 97 SX SE, it have 68XXX miles on it, i just installed a eibach pro kit, and i have 17 inch konig absolutes, 215/40/17. The ride is really bouncy now! REALLY bad, its not a rough bounce, just really loose, the tires hop off the road! NOT GOOD, do i need new shocks? IF so, i am thinking about getting KYB AGX or GR2s? ANY SUGGESTIONS are appreciated, thanks guys.

when you took the struts off, did the strut rod "fall" back into the shock body or did it stay up? it should have pressure from within the shock to hold it up, if it does not, it is blown...

yes, you are right, that is why i figured they are blown, they dont fall down really quick, but they wont stay up

I guess i have to buy new shocks. ONLY 68XXX miles though! and the car handled awesome with the shocks and stock springs! I dont understand, o well.... what kind of shocks should i get?

I think you'll find Kayabe (KYB) AGX Adjustables to be the most popular. I just bought a set but they were installed improperly so I can't yet enjoy them fully.

I ran the Koni yellows with my Pro- kit, and they're awesome. So I would reccomend Koni's for the performance, installation wise, no. The fronts were a pain in the *** to install, had to cut up the oem strut tube, cause the front Koni strut was just an insert. Once they were installed they were fine, the rears are easy, like every other shock, adjustability wise, the fronts are easy, just turn the knob on the top, the rears, yo actually have to remove the strut, and take off the spring to adjust it.

The performance is nice, but they're a ***** to install and adjust. Just figured I'd give you a little insight to some of the strut options.

ok, so konis and KYB are the two i have considered. If they are adjustable, is that the stiffness or ride height adjustability.

I don't know about Koni yellows, but the reds are adjustable for stiffness and ride height. They have a adjustable spring perch that allows for height adjustments.BTW, 68K before you need new shocks is pretty typical.

that is cool, do they ride rough? I guess you can adjust that, my car is a daily driver, so i dont want something that is going to be really rough.

I dont think the shocks would really make your car ride rough...that's the spring's job. The shocks would make you ride smoother though. I've installed the Koni yellows on my sister's V6 Accord, adjusted them, and nothing bad happens. All I noticed was that the car would "stick" in turns more...This is just out of my personal experience, I could be wrong. I suggest asking one of the moderators like Exar-Kun, he's pretty damn good with suspension questions...

Actually, the adjustable shocks can make a ride rougher or smoother.
