put my 96 motor in my s13 and my tach and speedo arent working right(help)

i put a 96 motor in my s13, jumpered the speedo wire, tach wire, temp wire, and now the hud display reads numberrs as i rev the car. anyone know whats going on and have a suggestion? thank you

is your s13 a sohc by any chance?

sry i swaped the tach for a dohc, but ya it was a sohc, also i dissconncted the speedo wire and it does the same thing

i bought red 14g wire from autozone and soddered the two wires together i dont think i grounded the sohc part of the harness, coiuld that be the problem?

why did you jumper any wires?

cause i didnt have the plug the both ends of the wires wouldnt meet so i had to add wire to make them conect
