put a new thermostat and its leaking now! help

ok i bearly put the thermostat and when i filled it up with coolant it just started driping !! wat can go wrong here i have a ka24deand the thing that was weird that the thermosat look way different then the one it had on it.i need help please anyone!

Have you tried tightening it? Chiltons calls for new gasket and sealer. Thermostat can be positioned wrong too but that would not cause leak.

yeah boght new gasket and silicone im good to go now

Unless you are replacing a Original Nissan thermostat with another original unit, you will run into issues like that. There is no standard where companies have to make exact copies of the original. Just as long as it works and passes standard tests (if any), that's all that they are after.
