If you let the wheel straighten out by its self you will whip the other way. As you exit the turn you should slowly steer back to normal or quickly depending on the situation

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm doing a powerslide or drift, I just let the steering wheel opposite lock and roll with it, but if I'm trying to get around a corner without hanging my a** end out, I straighten the wheel out myself and ease into the gas.

yea for taking fast corners i let the steering wheel straighten itself

as for "dorfito" ing lmaoo, i stupidly try and let the steering wheel do it itself, and almost eat it as the car swings retardlydamnit, so i should jus kinda turn it back straight not too much 2 the other way right?

I dunno, depends on what the car is doing. If it's starting to skid, and you don't want it to, just give a little steer in the opposite direction and ease off the gas.

the bigger angle is the first half of the turn and then you lessen the angle near the end so you can come out of the turn smooth.

but if youre in a lot of angle at the end of the turn, learning how to manipulate the gas and your steering will get you straight smoothly

you'll get it if you keep on trying

Just get out and play with it, and see how it reacts to what kind of input you give it. You'll eventually get the hang of it!

AHHHHHHH im going crazy smashing my head agaist the wallive looked around, and im planning on getting a cusco LSD, it seems you have to take care of it a lot though, and i dont really understand the mechanics to it that well.what difference do you feel in a 1.5way versus a 2way when braking, i dont understand that (flame away if you must!, I dont wanna buy and install something that i dont know how it works!)thanks

since it seems like your just starting out get a vlsd or a welded diff b4 you spend big $ on a 1.5 or 2 way. instead you can get some coilovers or lowering springs first. my 2 cents, oh and by the way i have a open and i dont get whiplash its basically all about control when you drift record yourself like i do and you can watch your mistakes also watch the drift bible you can see it/download it via google uhttp://video.google.com/videop...bible have a nice day hoped i helped you

No, get the VLSD or the welded diff first.

pretty confused now, looking for upgrade from open diff i dont know what 2 doapparently helical is not reliable, and the OBX off ebay is crapwelded seems to ruin ur shafts? and ruin tires and hopclutch types make a lot of noise and 2way are bad?????nismo 1.5way are impossible to findviscous randomely wont work?

im just looking for a upgrade from a open diff, yes rarely track it, but want to still have fun, someone please point me in the right direction,

how are helical diffs not reliable? and have you seen any OBX reviews? ive seen plenty from people who run 600+ hp in fwd hondas and 240's, no problems. but i wouldnt want any obx on my car either, so i dont really blame you.Quote »welded seems to ruin ur shafts? and ruin tires and hop
it doesnt ruin your shafts. tirewear isnt that much more noticable. and yes it hops, but you have to compromise here being your paying either nothing(weld it yourself), or under 100(have someone else weld it), so having a predictable rear thats locked outweighs slow speed wheel hop on tight corners. but everyone is different.Quote »clutch types make a lot of noise and 2way are bad?????
again, youve gotta compromise somewhere. 2 ways arent bad. basically a softer welded diff with no real hoping/wheel squeek on tight corners. but there will be a clunk. again, tradeoffs.Quote »nismo 1.5way are impossible to find
you can switch the nismo gt from2 way to 1.5 way by taking apart the diff. there are other companys that make 1.5way besides nismo, so thats something to keep in mind.Quote »viscous randomely wont work?
if you overheat the viscous coupling it will become ****ty. use a higher weight fluid to help cool it.

Quote »im just looking for a upgrade from a open diff, yes rarely track it, but want to still have fun, someone please point me in the right direction,
youve got to compromise somewhere. spend little to no money(welded diff), get locking on both accel and decel, but also get chirping/hopping on low speed corners(read, parkinglots. on the road its bearly noticable) get a helical which is great for grip, doesnt wear like clutch pack diffs, cost about half of what a clutch pack diff does, but drifting will be like an open diff, except most of the power will go to the outside wheel and not evenly distributed. or you could get a clutch pack lsd which is noisy when its doing its thing, but little to no wheel hop/chirping. although its a little more expensive, and requires alot more maintence than others. fluid changed every month or 2 depending on driving habbit, and replacing the clutch disks inside the unit when they wear out.choose wisely.

wow, thats a pretty good write up laylow240, jeez, thanks!!

id wanna hear the noise of a clutch type engaging, but if it only kicks in when ur actually doin somethin, shouldnt be a problem, dont wanna be clunking pulling up 2 driveway or somethin loll

didnt know helicals acted like open diff during drift, hmm, is it worse then viscous for drifting?
