Push brakes, dash lights com on???

Push brakes, dash lights com on???

My uncle has a '68 Camaro(old school muscle). Well anyway, when he pushes the brakes, the dash lights come on. Anyone ever had this happen with them, or any ideas on what to check? He asked me if I knew but I'm not sure, so I thought I'd ask you guys.
