First off is there a way to just be able to turn Acc: on then when finished go straight to off instead of having to cycle to On: then Off:. I have read the book and it doesn't seem there is a way but thought I might have missed something.

Secondly I am probably the last to find this out. The manual says to start, step on brake pedal then push the start button. I had been pushing and holding until it started. Yesterday I was showing an interested person how to start the Altima and just pushed the start button for about a second and let go and it started. No biggie but just makes it a little quicker.

from what I understand, if you push the button 3x consecutively it will turn off, but I dont know for sure, so I could be wrong... i guess it wouldnt hurt to try though... good luck.

I have another question about the push button start. I find myself quite curious what happens if you just hit it while the car is moving in drive. I know it's probably the same thing that happens if you turn off a normal car, which I've never done while it's in drive, but the fact that it's a button just MAKES you want to push it!

When I picked up my car the dealer told me not to hold the button in while starting the car. They said to press it once and it will start, otherwise you could burn up your starter. Not sure how true this is since I'm new to this whole push button start.

The car will turn off if you push the button while your driving. You have to put it back in neutral to cut it back on. Thats in my CVT anyways.

Pushing the button 3 times within 1.5 seconds will cause the car to turn OFF while in motion. If the car is stopped and idling, then just tapping it once will cause it to turn OFF. But while in motion, tapping it three times quickly or just holding it will cause it to turn off. Then you must put it in N (for auto) or just hit the clutch and press it again to restart while in motion.

Also - that is one of the design flaws of the pushbutton system. You can not go from ON to ACC. If the ignition is ON, you must turn to OFF, then press again to turn to ACC. So, essentially you must press the button twice from ON to get back into the ACC.

Design flaw. To my understanding, the Versa has a fake type of ignition switch (just a plastic turn knob) that allows you to select OFF, ACC, or ON, meaning you can go from ON to ACC. It is a keyless system with the key fob, just the ignition switch isn't really an ignition switch - it's just a dummy knob that kind of replaces the pushbutton we have.

When ur car is started...to go to AC , u have to push the start button twice rapidly

to go from AC to OFF, is where u have to click it once to go to ON, then again to off. As your doing this, ur lights go on and blablbah

i believe goin from ON to AC is the same as when the car is started, and to AC
