what is the purpose of the switch behind gas pedal?send a signal to ECU?:confused: max speed?

this has been discussed before, mostly in humor

but i think the consensus is that it sends a signal to the auto transmission to "get the groove on"

WideOpenThrottle (WOT) position switch. Temporarily shuts off AC if its on to give u more power when passing. Basically what 7thGear said.
