um, the lines are not 100% sealed. The gas will leak out.Purges are mainly for use on wet kits where you want nitrous and fuel to mix instantly so that you don't have the bog of fuel without nitrous.

can you purge with a dry kit? This may sound stupid but one of the main reasons i want NO2 is too purge, it shows somewhat of dominance hehe

HAHAHAHAHHAHA. THats like saying yo just want a turbo so you can make the blow off valve noise....

if you just want to blow smoke out of some orifice of the car, I can rig you up a kit that blows white gas outa a nozzle that you can put anyhwere...-chet

nonsense i say. everyone knows you don't need a turbocharger to get the blow off valve sound. just buy one of the electronic blow off sound maker OR the exhaust whistle. For maximum effect, get both (i.e twin turbo).

Wow-You mean I bought a $24k for that nifty blowoff valve sound and I didnt need to?

I get sick of WRX guys that say the first thing they want to do to their car is an aftermarket BOV.

As far as i'm concerned, BOV's are useless. There have been tests conducted where BOV's actually slowed the test car down, because it was off boost between gearshifts.

BOV's aren't designed to add HP. They are designed to save your turbo's life.

yea but if u purge u better be able to back it up so jus white gas comin out of a nozzle is gonna make u look like a complete dumba** along with a fake BOV, you may be able to fake the turbo sound but ur sure not gonna be able to fake the ET's, i say flaunt what u have dont settle for imitation.

Recirculating BOV's for that reason a smart to use on a roadcar. On a race car is another matter.

race cars use sequential valves so that the boost is not fully released durring a race, only partially vented so that the turbo will not experience compressor surge.

Without a BOV your impellar and shaft are forced to spin backwards when your TB plate closes and there is no where else for the compressed air to go. Not using one is dumb. Saying they are useless is even dumber. I would like to see the test where the car actually slowed down because of running a BOV.

dude the factory bov doesn't whistle as hard as an aftermarket one, the louder the whistle the more power it makes...DUHHH.

You can actually adjust the spring tension on a BOV to keep some pressure in the system. Though, it's highly recommend that you do this only with a ball bearing turbo due to the extreme thrust loads.

The HKS sequential was the slowest one to open in the last 2 tests I read.

the point of a purge valve is to put fresh cold nitrous in the front of the line. i have one and it helps! but buy a bottle heater first, you will have a better time with the N2O that way, and a psi gauge. it does not matter if you have a wet or dry kit purge will help your starts. oh ya! and it looks cool and poeple will know your car at the track. i had poeple walk up to me at car shows ( that my car was not) and ask what i had done! it was tight
