Untill i had a previously owned (I hate saying used) 240sx. Then i ran into a deal for a 1990 mazda miata for 1000 bucks. So i bought jumped off the forum. Well lets just say i was really itching to get a 240 and that baby 1.6 miata wasnt scratching it. So needless to say i am now the proud owner of a nissan 240sx SE s14 ka24de cai megan fart can the baddest a** paint ive ever seen.
Now story..... Went out cruisin around in the miata which had every aftermarket suspension peice known to its kind in it bouncing along
and i pull into the best buy parking lot were all my friends are at. Talking car stuff, revin engines, setting up racing, lyin about internals, and work done and giving hp specs from there butt dyno. You know typical friday night. I pull up in my miata stanced out rolled fenders axis old skool wheels wrapped in brand new eagle gt's. Looking hella wet. Paint buy the way was flawless, color white, cf hardtop, low and slow. When these random high skool kids come up to me. Hands all over the freshly cleaned whip. Im like," next person who touches my car or leans on it is ganna eat the tourqe bar between my seats!" They start throwing offers of 3500 bucks too me and a grand for the wheels and that crap. I said,"she aint for sale bug someone else!" So i go talk to my friends.
Now I have been looking for a 240 for a while. Yet still indulging in slowly peicing together my miata. Anyways... This kid standing like 5foot1 skinny as a twig comes up to me tugs on my shirt. Im like," whats up how goes it." You know thats how we are at the meets. Friendly to everyone as long as respect isnt broken.
So he says," hey i was checking out ur car its really nice ive always wanted one!" Im like," thanks man ill take u for a ride when we go for a loop." (a cruise of all 70+ of us through town the tear down interstate back to the lot and chill some more ) Hes like," cool man thanks." Then he goes," would u consider getting rid of it," I said ,"yea if the right offer comes along." He said," i was talking to ur friends over there who said u were looking for a 240 and i got a 240 we can trade." ( in my head saying ur trying to make me look stupid and get excited for a joke then say nah ur car aint worth that much) So i tell him," to get lost go mess with someone else." I start to walk away.
The kid tugs on my shirt and is like," man im serious i will strait up trade you no bs strait up no cash involved!" I say," ok then were is your car?" He points his finger across the lot and points to a metalic hulk green s14 fresh paint he said." here is the keys." I go," that isnt your car how old are you?" He said," 16 and ill whip s*** through this parking lot prove its mine and the registration is in my mothers name." I look around the car i notice alot of things.
Ok for starters
1) Someone keyed the hell out of the drivers side and the roof.
2) It was broken into with a crobar in the trunk (bungie corded shut from the inside)
3) The kid drifted showing off hit a curb dented the rim, broke an wheel stud, destroyed the front bumper, bent the inner tierod, and lower control arm and still drives it.
Mine clean as hell, fresh 130k, but 2 seats. This 240 trashed! (body and suspension wise) But has 4 seats. (very important) I have one child another on the way. So ran good, pulled hard to the passanger side. Decided screw it we dont get 240's to often here is SD. Especially none without rust!
... So i indulged and traded. Kinda dumb now that i think about because i never checked the engine out at all. Just drove it seemed fine! Not boosted so i knew it was a ka.(unless it was a ka-t) Trans seemed good had 106k on it. Interior clean as hell!
So we did it. Got it back to the garage lifted it up and realized i never checked under the hood. The sight of a 240 was enough didnt care about what was wrong with it. So i popped the hood to find a fresh ka, no leaks, no nothing, bone stock! Freshest engine bay i have ever seen i swear to you! It had a cold air intake and a mishimoto radiator thats it. Ac, p/s, everything.
Opened the glove box. Found original window sticker and every reciept of every part put in this car. After all was said in done, after all i found out. I felt bad cause i feel like i ripped the kid off. But he is happy as hell in my old go kart but all is done now its down to buisness my plans.
I am putting these down as thoughts i need feed back. Your views and others testomonies on these products.
