Heres the deal. My buddy is getting rid of his wrecked BNR32 (for far too many reasons to list), and he is going to sell it to me for $2500 USD. Now, as we all know, this is way too good to pass up, when you consider motor, seats, fmic, brakes and other stuff that can be salvaged. Were going to go scope it out this friday and I was wondering if I could get some tips on stuff to look for as far as motor condition. I'm well aware of checking out under the valve cover and things of that sort, but what I'm looking for is if there are any special RB series nuances that I should keep an eye out for.

Any help is much appreciated.

If it will crank over I'd do a compresion test. If not maybe a leakdown test. You can take a 30mm socket and wrench and turn the crank pully clockwise (trans in neutral). If it turns your in good shape if it won't the engine could be seized. Sounds like a good deal just be wary.
