Hey All,

After the recent car meet we had, I realized how high my M was sitting on stock suspension and began looking around. I found someone selling used Megan Racing Coils for my M at a price I couldn't refuse. I just got them last night and tested the two without the springs and they dampen good, since I don't have the wrench to adjust them I couldn't test the other two with the springs on but I am hoping they function well also. A little rust on the springs but no leaks so they should be good to go. I might just hold out until after Winter to install these bad boys but I am really tempted to install them soon lol. I am going to start shopping around to see the best price to get these installed. I am going for a low aggressive look this spring so it sits nice and low but not completely slammed. Any comments suggestions thoughts or anything will be appreciated as this is the first time I deal with coils.

Good work, sir.

Yeah, I left the BBQ with a renewed sense of 'finishing' my car as well. Specifically, I NEED that 08 Sport front end. MUST HAVE lol. Also going to test some 5mm spacers on my wheels. Then I need to redo my front lighting (new headlights as mine as foggy/scratched up) and a full detail/dent repair/paint refresh.

Thanks!. Totally agree as I picked out many changes I want to do with my M as well. Just wish I had the $$$ for it all lol..

Yes, Ilya !! You've got the bug again haven't you.
I'm still mending but when the 'GoodGrief Eagle RSA's' wear down, I'm going back to the 255/45 Hankook S1noble2's that I miss so much from my 2007. I also want to add 5mm spacers. I've been told by some tire / wheel peeps that a 5mm spacer will fit just fine and not require any stud work - just be sure to get spacers that fit onto the existing hub lip and also make sure the spacers ahave a lip on the outer side to allow your wheels to rest secure against them. I was also told that as a rule, you MUST get FIVE full turns on the lug nuts to tighten the wheels - otherwise, it will not be safe at all speeds and conditions and a 5mm spacer will allow for at least five full turns.
It should be a 'plug-n-play' mod. (well, actually a 'jack up the car, remove the wheel, add the spacer, install the wheel, lower the car' type of mod, LOL)

About you headlamps. Have you tried wet-sanding them with 1000 grit, then 2000 grit sandpaper - then polish with something like Mequiars ultimate compound? If you sand the lenses so they feel smooth and are completely and evenly fogged up, then polish them multiple times, they should end up clear. It's an all-afternoon job, but it should work. The very worst that will happen is you may still see some scratches, but you can't ruin them by doing the procedure above and they will polish up just fine - just a matter of polishing and re-polishing and re-polishing until they are clear again.

make sure you put some UV sealant on them otherwise you'll be doing it again in a year when they turn yellow on you.

also, when you think you are done polishing them, polish them some more.

I'm probably just going to buy new ones because I want to mod them at the same time (better projector lens, etc.). But anyway, this thread isn't about me lol. Let's get back on topic.

Sorry OP.
