I just picked up Sops motor and transmission yesterday, it cleaned up pretty good and im already tearing it down, gonna do all new gaskets, oil pan, valvecovers, rear main seal, and pull the plenum off for some cleaning and porting, also removing the exhaust manifolds to see if some power can be found in either completely removing the cat that is connected to it, or possibly designing our own headers for the motor, all in all should be fun and an interesting process, Sops a good guy he delivered the motor and transmission himself and I thank him for that, I can honestly say that the motor has helped me out already, while cleaning and removing some stuff I noticed that the CAS was set at a different location than the one on my car, so I had my timming checked out and low and behold it was not even at the 15 deg mark, I had it corrected and man the car feels much better, I dont drive my Q all that much so I usually keep a good mix of 100 octane and Citgo 93 in the tank ( only drove 9000 miles since last Jan) so pinging is not a problem, the temps were 88 and high humidity and the car ran perfect also have newer coolant temp sensor an distilled water with water wetter, ill keep you guys up to date on the build up, wish me luck. Oh yeah my car runs great just wanted another motor to have some fun with in the search for more power.:ylsuper

Lexus LS400 motors are in use world wide in small airplanes, when Toyota [not trucks but cars] wins NASCAR the end will be near.

But Toyota-Ford and General Toyota Motors should make good cars. Nissan Bavarian Motor Works will take a little longer.

Wow 1qckser, thats some dedication. I also like the idea of marine use for a Q motor.

Imagine what a Q motor would sound like on your local lake at a whopping 7400 rpm, WOW :ylsuper

Oh lord!! It would have to sound better than the 327 that is in it now!!!

I was thinking of dropping in a Q motor to my grandpas 68 chris craft commander 28....... The only problem would be finding wet manifolds that are risers....... Those would most likely have to be custom...... And you would have to get a brass water pump (so it doesnt corrode)...... But all that work would be worth it!!
