Hi Guys
I just picked up a 02 QX4 for CHEAP (salvage title). I needed a cheap daily driver (I have a 474whp WRX, built motor and transmission and its not the best daily) and this truck just fit the bill and is nice a luxurious. My criteria was a midsize suv, leather, and 4x4. Enter the Q. When i test drove it, it ran beautifully and the 4x4 worked so i was sold. So far I love it, but there are a couple issues.
When i got it, the airbag light was flashing, the check engine light was on, and the door ajar light was on even though all doors were closed, and the sunroof doesnt work. Also the leather is dirty, the drivers seat has lost some stitching in a spot and the arm rest is jacked.
Thanks to this site, I was able to reset the airbag light no problem. so that is taken care of

I had the CEL read and it is p1145. I searched on this site and found out it was the sensor. I have one on order from Orielly Auto parts (i need to clear the CEL so it will pass emissions). My question on this is how do i clear the cel when i install it? Or will installing it clear it?

The truck was hit on the left side so Im guessing thats where the door ajar light is coming from.... I hope.

The sunroof doesnt do anything. I checked the fuse and its good, and the windows work so thats not it. Any ideas to fix this?

Thanks in advance :)

Swapping the sensor will clear the code immediately, at least it did for my P1145.

You probably are missing the rubber covers on top of the door sensors somewhere.

Does your horn work? If not, your spiral cable is probably disconnected or damaged.

Does the sunroof not work at all? Or work in little fits and starts with the right hand switch in the roof console?

Did you try a battery hard reset (i.e. touching both terminals together after disconnecting)? If that doesn't work hop on over to your local part store and borrow their scanners and clear it that way. I'm sure there is a third way as it is on my i30, there's a small computer tucked behind a foot panel with a screw that you turn...but being new myself I don't know yet.

I disconnected the battery last night and I will reconnect today, that will be about 15 hours. When i disconnected i touched the terminals together.
Ill have to try the horn and see if it works..

Thanks for the replys

Just an update

Found out why the sunroof doesn't work... It's caulked shut! Lol. I'm not gonna mess with it. The more I look at it the more I think it was in a rollover despite what tue carfax says. The sunroof and it's missing the roof rails.....
