Ok, I understand I am doing this backwards, but it is all water under the bridge now.
Purchased a 09 Nissan Murano LE. Got a very good price on it for one reason - it had an accident. Front end damage. No airbags deployed, but Carfax says it was towed away. I love the car so far - although it has only been a few days. Drives smooth, breaks and handles great, and front end looks showroom new. There is no way I could ever guess it had been in an accident.
I understand I should have asked these questions BEFORE buying, but again, too late. Here are my concerns and hope some experienced NICO club members can help. Please note - I do have the 30-day lemon law as a fall back if I find something serious. My questions.
1) I want to take it to a Nissan Dealer for the once over (I know, I know - I should have done this before buying!). What things should I specifically ask him to look at, especially concerning the front end damage? I understand the transmission, engine and electrical system needs to be checked, but I wanted to make sure I asked the right questions in regards to the front end and chassis.
2) Lastly, down the road when I go to sell this vehicle (and yes I understand I won't get the same price as the rest of you non-accident Murano's), is there some documentation from Nissan or a body shop that would put my potential customer at ease about buying? (Other than my praise of driving this awesome machine for a handful of years). Again, hoping for some specific language or documentation from Nissan or a body shop that would help to eliminate some of the fears brought about from the Carfax.
Thanks in advance for your time.
