Purchased a 98 240sx se model needs repairs

the motor is water locked and i was going to tear it apart tomorrow and send the block to get rehoned is there anything else that you gurus could tell me to do.....the car is a gem outside and inside and i got it for 500 bucks....thanks for the help

should i flush all fluids?

Was the whole car under water? I would flush everything--While it is apart why not throw in a turbo--A decent rebuild if your paying for parts and labor is almost as much as a SR

Fluids are the least of your worries, have you tried just taking out the plugs and pushing the water out of the block with the crank pulley ? My friend hydrolocked his jeep eh.. 3-4 times now and thats the first thing u need to try to do. Dont rip the engine apart until your sure you have to. Also listen for any strange sounds when you turn the engine over. When you hydrolock an engine you can easily destroy your bottom end.

Honestly man, you should just swap another Ka24De into it and call it a day. You will spend muchhh less money on a brand new motor than you will at a machine shop. Ka's are so cheap now adays, theres really no reason to go through the hassle if your motors toast.

i know its a wsteal right...i have a 98 gsr as a dd and i was hoping to be able to fix it without alot of cash so i could either sell it and get another car and do the same thing or fix it and swap the motor with something that starts with a R.....:P but yea it has been sitting for 2 months in the guys driveway i set up pics when i get the chance this weekend
