So thinking about a 2002 q45 - I have a 99 but my wife needs a new ride - any thoughts? (yes I know parts are crazy) I don't want the 6 engine (G series) and would prefer the 8 cylinder. If I find one with low miles -

Absolutely get an 05 or 06 if your going to go the F50 route. They pretty much had all the kinks worked out by 2005. Besides, who wouldn't enjoy a 340hp rocket? I have a love hate relationship with my 05, but all in all she's a good girl.-

That is what I keep seeing in the forums about the 05 - the early ones have some issues from what I read - Thx

At that age, maintenance history is everything... unless you're buying cheap and willing to tackle any issue that arises. If I were buying one, I think an '05 or '06 would be on my short list unless you found one that was exceptionally nice from an earlier year.

If you check out CarGurus they have a great website that pulls from everywhere and gives you a heads up on the price.. I really wanted a 2006 for the larger sport rims and the addition of lane departure warning. They only sold (329) 2006 models and (1129) 2005's.. one other piece of info that might help you decide is that all 05 and 06 Q's came with active suspension standard. But it's function is so minimal it's not one that ruins the cars ability to be driven if it fails. Most people can't tell if it's switched to sport or auto. I can't.

Thanks 05 - yes I use CarGurus all the time in addition to my other sites - Good information - If I can score a low mileage - that is always the trick - Thanks for the update....

I had my first Q45 5 years ago. But it with 150000 on it. Took it to 206000. I totaled it. I loved it so much that I bought an 03 Q45 as a replacement with only 82000 on it. I did have things go wrong with my 02 however. Some sensors , starter, alternator were really it. If you can get an 05 or 06 do it. But don't rule out the older models...they are a very fun car to drive and usually loaded in terms of features. For the money you get so much car!

I absolutely love the '03 Q45 (premium) I bought 19 months ago with 65K mi on it (79k now). Quiet, smooth, amazing 340 hp. From what I understand this model ran 0 to 60 in 5.9 secs when new. I think it's not far off that now. This car is just made to go 100 mph all day and night and take those corners besides.

I bought my '02 Q45 about 8 years ago. It just hît 190K this past weekend. I've had no major issues with it, keep regular maintenance on it and keep people out of my driver's seat except me! Lol. It is stillborn very fun to drive and still get admirers of a 15 year old car! I wish they still made this proved to be as reliable I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
