Puppy... he's gone...

I'm beyond pissed at my gf at the moment...

Story:About 2 months ago I went down to her house to take the little brother and his friends off her mom's hands and to minigolf...

A mile or so from her house, I spot this puppy on the road walking along the side. Feeling like a good samaritan, I stopped and picked him up, driving him to her house in my lap.

They placed him in the care of a neighbor after feeding him (he was horribly malnourished). The neighbor loves dogs, so it worked out well.

Winston (named after me ) was a cute black mutt with brown feet and a brown area around his nose as well as a few other places.

Well, I asked her to take a picture of him for me and send it to me a day or two after that.

I asked her ever so often for the picture and about how he was doing and she said he was doing better, despite the low chances he would survive to begin with. She also said she'd get the picture soon, but never did, which I found a bit odd.

Tonight I asked again... and she finally told me he's dead. He's been dead since a few weeks after I dropped him off.

I feel AWFUL cause he was so sweet... but I'm really pissed that she lied... just tell me, yaknow? Despite how much I believed in him to live... I still ought to have been told the truth... she said she didn't want my feelings hurt and crap... but... just tell me...

I'm sure you all think I'm a sap and a whiny little kid now, and I just don't care, I believed in that little guy and he didn't make it.

I know she just didn't want to tell me cause I really believed in the little guy, and I understand that.

Just feelin' like ****, yaknow? The self confidence train had already hit a ton of bricks, and now I find out he's dead... depressing night for me... grounded and **** too so I can't go see my girl at her soccer game tomorrow or anything, locked in this Godforsaken house all day... NOT a happy time.

I remember when you told us about picking him up. Sad that he didn't make it. I can see where your gf was coming from, but lieing only causes trouble. You know what they say, "The truth hurts, lies kill".

The grounded part comes in because of grades (had a C in math briefly, a borderline 81 Chem grade, and a D in AP English- a class in which no one had above an 83, and I get 5pts for it being AP, and we've had several assignments since in which I've gotten mostly 25/25 and such, so it's definitely a B by now) and over-proactive parents (who refuse to unground me til the report card, which finally comes tomorrow.... but they'll ground me for an online grade report sent out whenever the teach gets bored enough to do so), and anyways I just kinda deal, always have, and only 63ish more weeks of highschool anyway, at which point I'll hopefully enjoy my studies a bit more. (Lemme hope )

As I said before, I get where Tif's coming from, cause she knew how much I believed he'd survive. When I talked to her a day or so after she told me that the dog-expert neighbor gave him about a 5% chance... I'm a stubborn mofo... and I figured if he had my name he'd have that crazy survival instinct of mine. Guess not.

To the person who decided they didn't like the puppies their dog had and dropped him off in the middle of the street to starve to death:

nah your not a sap. Your human. Anyway, sucks the puppy dies. Any child dieing of any species is horrible. eather it be dog or human

Sorry to hear about the puppy, but if it makes you feel any better... my dog that i've had since i was 4 (i'm almost 20 now) is fixing to die unless we put her down first. She can't walk very well, she can't hear, and she can't see. It's so bad that she falls in our pool sometimes and can't pull herself out. It's heartbreaking.
