While back someone jacked the faceplate off of the tape deck in my pickup (long story), and just yesterday someone broke into my beloved two fourty and pulled out my Alpine. It was a piece of crap, barely read CDs, but damn that was my only radio left. There was no sign of damage to the car, minus the gaping hole in the center of the dash and wires all up in everywhere.

Stupid *** punks. I dunno what the f*** I'd do to the fool caught getting into either of my cars, but now neither of 'em have a reason to be broken into.

Sounds like you need additional security in your car...

Sorry to hear. That's why this time when i got my 240 and it didn't come with a radio i was happy. I instead hooked up an ipod in a fun way. So now if you ever look through my window you won't see any sign of my having a system. And I also stop playing music when I'm about two blocks to home.

And what did suck was that I didn't the system hooked up until 5 months after I owned the car. So that meant 5 months of singing to myself in the car for the 20 minute commute to school and work.

Hehe, I wonder if I could somehow make a portable CD player take control of the 4 speakers in my car without running a head unit? :p

Of course you could. It would work just like my iPod. Take the 'line out' signal from the CD player and run it through a volume controller and then to a 4 channel amp. Then amp your speakers and you're good.

I just put a deposit on an 1989 240sx (se power). The records show it's been stolen twice, and our company car (Mazda 929) was stolen from the lot I'll be parking it in. The first thing I'm getting for it is a club. Possibly an immobilizer too. I think the BCAA has a deal on immobilizers.

I would already have the car, but the dealership doesn't take interac or non-certified cheques, and it's a long weekend, so the credit union is closed.
