i have an 89 240sx and im going to turbo it. but what i need to know is can i remove the pulse air injection and just cap the vaccume lines for it on the intake manifold??? and if i do this will everything still run the same?

Do you mean the EGR? Exhaust gas recirc?

Or the PCV system, 'pulse air injection' is meaningless.

No i mean pulse air. it mixes fresh air with exhaust to dilute emissions. i know what an egr and pcv system are. im an emissions tech in utah so i know what system im asking about. thanks for your help tho guys

Looks to be something needed for Ca cars, go figure.

You can block all that stuff off, its just vacuum op crap. Worst that will happen is you will throw a code, which wont matter for OBD1 anyway.

thats kinda what i figured. i had a 92nx2000 that also had the pulse air and we disconnected it in plugged the hole in the header that we put on. just trying to cover all my bases dont wana break my new toy before i even get to drive it lol

Maybe you are talking about the AIV valve? I think its also called the PAIR valve?

It goes from the exhaust mani, through a little hose, through a little black box, and another hose goes into your airbox. Either way yeah, you can disconnect that crap.
