Pulsating lights and noisy engine

Hey everyone. I have a 90 w/ a redtop installed. One day when I was driving and I had my lights on, I looked at my lights and the were pulsating. It would be so little that you could hardly notice it, but sometimes its really bad. Not to the poitn were they go dead, but the just dim alittle and then brithen back up. I have checked all my wiring and nothing is loose or corroded. Any Suggestions? I also have a ka24de alt. If that makes a difference.

My next Problem is this rattling under the valve cover. I know its not the timing chain b/c it is coming from the back of the motor. For some reason you can hear the rattling better in the car than outside. When I shift it would really rattle or when i rev up the motor and let it go back down to idle. I has enough oil in it, and have never had any heatting probs or never boosted orver 12psi. Any help, I would really appreciate it.

Anyhelp would be useful, or even what to look at. If someone could point me in the right direction, it would help out a lot.
