Well i took the inlet pipe off yesterday and had a little shaft play. It's probibly about 1mm of play but there is a noise associated with high RPM spool up. It happens no matter what boost i run.

Anyone know if the T28 from the pulsar is BB? also is it really a DIRECT replacement for the SR T25? I'm OK with doing a little modification but i don't really want to run new lines.

My goal is only to run high 12's. (i've been 13.4 @ 105 on the stock T25 and really really crappy tires.)

This info is from cheaptrubos.com

Factory Nissan Pulsar GTiR T28TURBINE SPECS: T28.86 A/R Housing79 Trim WheelCOMPRESSOR SPECS: T3.60 A/R Housing60 Trim WheelCompressor Flow: 33 LB/MIN

I would be very interested in opnions of people who have this turbo. Thanks as always!

He said "no" to its not a *direct* replacement... about the only thing the same is the exhaust flange...

Cheapturbo's one looks like factory pulsar one to me?

as much as I don't like quoting FA threads... one of their guys did an excellent write up on installing a t28 on a red top... here it is:hiding:

jspec.com has those inlets i think, but their prices are always high...i would bet you could have a shop make you something custom for close to the same price...This may be sort of a wierd question, but what are the advantages disadvantages to relocating the air filter on a turbo charged car...(ie short length intake vs. a longer one)The reason i ask is because it would be fairly easy to make a cold air styled intake to relocate the air filter in my fender or something for my SR..thanks

Why would you do that? A turbocharger is like a CAI on crack! Most unibody drag cars, actually put the turbo compressor wheel sticking out of the hood for direct air intake. The ideal would be a filter directly on the compressor air inlet.

Yes, there are gains to be made getting colder air into the turbo, contrary to popular opinion that it doesn't matter since "the air is intercooled anyway." Only downside is, of course, the same as with an NA CAI, being water. Just don't go rallying or driving in hurricanes and you should be alright tho.

Oh, for my S14 T28, i bought a set of machined inlet and outlet flanges that bolt on to the turbo and let you just clamp piping directly to the turbo, without the need for the stock S14/15 pieces. Or, take the S13 inlet cut it, rotate it about 30 degrees, and have a reputable shop weld it back for about $30. The outlet flange on the S14 is the same as the S13, although i'm not certain about the pulsar turbo. Hope some of this helps.

It's basicly bolt on if you want to get picky then the S15 bb turbo isnt "bolt on" either, its as close as you can get to bolt on with out getting the same turbo. Options to add, HKS wastegate, the stock one wont hold the boost you want. But with right mods and tuning that turbo + cams are goood for a 350rwhp SR20

OK looks like the plan is to go with the S15/Pulsar T28. I have a firm grasp of the inlet pipe but on FA they talk about needing an outlet pipe to. It has a 90 degree bend in it right?

My aftermarket hotpipe points down at both ends. Does anyone have any detailed picure of the compressor discharge pipe on the S14/15

On the S14 turbo, you can use the outlet from the S13. It bolts right on.
